Jeremy wins silver acorn

Sheffield Scout Leader given top award !

Jeremy Holmes has been awarded with the Silver Acorn.

UK Chief Commissioner, Wayne Bullpitt, said “Jeremy has been awarded with the Silver Acorn as a mark of the Chief Scout Bear Gryll’s appreciation of his specially distinguished service to the Scout movement over so many years”

Jeremy started at Millhouses as a Cub, Scout and Venture Scout before going to work at the International Scout Centre in Kandersteg, Switzerland for 12 months. When he returned to Sheffield, he was made the Scout Leader. A role he did for 10 years. He then moved to the Venture Scout Section and formed the hugely successful EMU Venture Scout Unit at Ecclesall. After 13 years he then moved to a District Role and also the Cub Leader at 225th St. Wilfrid’s, before returning to Millhouses Scouts 5 years ago. This will be his 34th year as a leader in the Scout movement.
